International Student Audio Podcast Competition 2026

Students and young people from across Europe and beyond are invited to take part in the International Audio Podcast Competition 2026 — an initiative that encourages young voices to share ideas, personal stories and creative perspectives through the power of podcasting.

Age Group Open to students and young people aged 12 to 20.
Application Deadline Applications are open until 20 July 2026.
Participation The competition is international and participation is free of charge.

About the Competition

The competition is organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “With Digital Voices to Competences for Future”. The initiative aims to support young people in using podcasting as a creative and meaningful medium for expressing ideas, sharing opinions and engaging with important social, cultural and European topics.

Participants are encouraged to present original ideas, personal stories, interviews, discussions, storytelling formats or documentary-style audio episodes.

Who Can Participate?

  • Individual participants aged between 12 and 20.
  • School classes and groups of students.
  • Youth organizations and media clubs.
  • International student teams.

Competition Topics

Submitted podcasts should be connected to topics that develop critical thinking, digital skills, civic engagement, creativity and intercultural dialogue.

  • Digital literacy and media awareness.
  • Democracy and active citizenship.
  • European values and intercultural dialogue.
  • Sustainability and environmental protection.
  • Creativity and entrepreneurship.
  • Cultural identity and diversity.
  • International friendship and cooperation.
  • The voice of young people in contemporary society.

Podcast Requirements

  • The podcast must be published online.
  • The duration must be between 3 and 15 minutes.
  • The podcast must be in English or provided with a full English version/dubbing.
  • Each submission must include a podcast title and a short description in English of up to 300 words.
  • The submission must include the target audience, names, age and country of the participants.
  • The name of the school or organization should be included where applicable.

Evaluation Criteria

An international jury will evaluate the submitted podcasts according to their relevance, creativity, clarity, social impact and technical audio quality.

  • Relevance to the competition topics — up to 30 points.
  • Creativity and originality — up to 20 points.
  • Quality and clarity of content — up to 20 points.
  • Social significance and impact — up to 15 points.
  • Technical sound quality — up to 15 points.

Awards

The awards will be granted in the form of Amazon.DE vouchers, which can be used to purchase technical equipment and accessories related to podcasting, audio recording and audio production. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

First Prize 300 €
Second Prize 200 €
Third Prize 100 €
Encouragement Awards 50 €

Important Dates

20 July 2026 Application deadline.
30 July 2026 End of the evaluation period.
1 August 2026 Announcement of the results.

Copyright and Personal Data

The copyright of the submitted podcasts remains the property of the participants. By taking part in the competition, applicants grant the organizers the right to use the submitted podcasts for educational, dissemination and Erasmus+ project-related purposes.

Personal data will be processed confidentially in accordance with GDPR requirements. Participants under the age of 18 must provide consent from a parent or guardian.
